THEATRE @ TERRA PRESENTS: BATONGA -A TALE OF CHILD TRAFFICKING

A few weeks ago, we welcomed our August 2012 theatre troupe Star Art Production under the directorship of Gbenga Yusuf as they present Batonga.

We are now in the middle of August with two more Sundays for you all to come watch the play.

The opening afternoon of Batonga saw representatives from the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons & Other Related Matters (NAPTIP) deliver a short talk on the statistics of child trafficking. You can see the statistics we posted last here.

In encouraging the audience to “take a stand” and “not turn a blind eye to the abuses” the theatre goers raised the ‘Red Card’ showing their support against human child trafficking.

“No child wants to endure this” and “some feel they have no choice” were the messages resonating through out the talk. The NAPTIP rehabilitates ‘broken children’ in their centres across Nigeria and…
